Giselle is a classic Alden Challenger 38 Bermudian yawl from 1962. Halmatic-moulded GRP hull, Awlgrip painted in 2015, GRP deck clad with teak, varnished teak coachroof and coamings, sheathed marine ply coachroof top. Lister Alpha 40hp inboard diesel engine ( 2005 ) on shaft with variable pitch propeller. Long lead keel with bronze centreplate ( Draft with plate up 4'. ). Selden main mast with furling Main, electrically furling Genoa, Mizzen on anodised alloy mast with wooden boom. Spinnaker and carbon pole. Anderson 46 ST electric primary winches. Standing rigging from 2015, running rigging from 2017. Raymarine nav kit from 2005. Lofrans Tigress electric anchor windlass. Sidepower bow thruster. 4 berths in saloon and 2 in forecabin. Webasto heating, hot and cold water, shorepower, battery charger and inverter. Quality teak joinery. An elegant boat, beautifully built, originally to Lloyds 100A1. A slice of nautical history!

OWNER'S COMMENTS

Giselle was acquired by my father in 1999 and spent 7 years completely overhauling her hull, decks, interior and equipment before being relaunched in 2006.

We sailed Giselle around Ireland in 2008 and then around the Western Isles of Scotland in 2009, having many memorable moments aboard. Since 2012 she has been based in the Solent.

In 2015 we refurbished the hull and deck at Berthons, Lymington and gave her the duck-egg blue paint scheme she has now.
