1959 Custom Lallows Launch

Commissioned by Cowes Harbour Master, Clare of Beaulieu is one of very few motor launches drawn by Uffa Fox and built by Clare Lallow's yard in Cowes. The hull is carvel teak planking on oak frames, ribs and beams with sheathed plywood deck and open backed teak wheelhouse. Originally built with a petrol engine she now has a Yanmar Shire inboard diesel engine on shaft ( 48hp @ 3,000 rpm ), serviced September 2023 ( antifouled and new anodes too ). She subsequently transferred to Beaulieu where she again operated as the Harbour Master's launch. She was thoroughly refitted by Bucklers Hard Boat Builders for her current owners in 2020/21. Equipment aboard includes a Garmin GPS Plotter and depth sounder, Clearview Screen, tow hook, searchlight, nav lights, manual bilge pump, mechanical fire and bilge pump, fire hose and boarding ladder. Always intended as a project, new owners are sought who appreciate her classic lines and interesting history.
